Who Are We?

CoachAFL is a research firm publishing practical coaching information on Australian Rules Football for coaches and players at alllevels.

Our research activities include:

->	In-depth interviews with professional coaches, assistant coaches, trainers, managers and players involved in the Australian Rules Football.
->	Surveys of amateur football coaches, managers and players to discover and share what's working with the entire football community.
->	Interviews and surveys with people involved in other sports to discover strategies which may be bought over to Australian Rules Football.
->	Collection and analysis of "best of" research information published by other experts and firms that might prove useful for our subscribers.

Please note -- Coach AFL is not a consulting firm. We're just a research organisation that just happens to serve the Australian Rules Football community.

David Johnson (better known as Johnno) is a former WA Teal Cup representative who played for Perth in the WAFL during it's hey days in the 1980s and was almost recruited to play for Essendon under Kevin Sheedy before pulling out at the last minute due to family committments.

Johnno started coaching his local Colt's team (the mighty Gosnells Hawks in the WA Sunday League) in 1993 and has since coached a number of different teams in both country Western Australia and the Perth metropolitan area. He is currently the assistant coach of the East Fremantle Football Club League team, as well as the coach of their Reserves team in the WAFL.

As a coach at the East Fremantle Football Club, Johnno has developed a number of important contacts in the football world. Contacts which he now leverages to bring you the best tips possible for coaching, managing or playing the great game of Australian Rules Football!

What Is Australian Rules Football?

Oh, you have to be kidding! You haven't heard of Australian rules football? Well Australian rules football is the best game in the world. If you don't believe us, then check out these facts:

->	With more than 400,000 particpants, Aussie Rules is said to be Australia's most particpated team sport.
->	Aussie Rules is also played as an amateur sport in over 20 countries around the world.
->	As of 2005 the AFL is one of only five professional sports leagues in the world with an average attendance above thirty thousand (the others are NFL and Major League Baseball in the United States, and the top division soccer leagues in Germany, and England).
->	The AFL Grand Final has been one of the top 5 most watched television shows on television since 2002. It has also reached the number 1 spot on Australian television for sportssince 2004.
